Acts 15:19 says, "It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God."
Quick catch up on the context. Paul and other believers had started taking the gospel to the gentiles in places like Corinth, Thessalonica, Athens, etc, and the gentile converts were uncircumcised, so some of the circumcised (Jewish) believers were demanding that gentile converts be circumcised according to the Law of Moses.
Basically, Paul argues (and the others eventually accept) that it was not necessary that they be circumcised, and what mattered was that they believed in Jesus Christ and in the gospel.
There are a lot of doctrines in Christianity, some relatively uniform across all the denominations, and some unique to a particular one. These doctrines tend to be cumbersome at times, and I'm not trying to bash them. They are very helpful in keeping in line with Christ, but sometimes, they scare off people who want to draw near. The most important thing is to foster a personal relationship with God himself, and as that grows, you'll find yourself wanting to follow the doctrines.
Let's not lose sight of what is most important. Jesus never turned anyone away, but he dined with sinners and admonished them to stay away from sin. Let people come to Christ, then help them on their journey to refrain from their old ways.
Peace and love of Christ be with you all!!!
