So, you know that thing people do when others doubt them, trying to prove them wrong, yes that thing. God doesn't do that. His works usually do the convincing, but if you don't believe He can do something for you, He is not going to do it just so you can see He can.
Throughout the New Testament, we see Jesus performing miracles for those who believed, and He frequently uses phrases like "Go, your faith has made you well," or variations of some sort. So miracles go hand in hand with faith.
In Matthew 13, when Jesus visited His hometown, the bible records that He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith (Matthew 13:58).
What if you had faith at first, but then halfway through, the doubts started creeping in. Remember the story of Jesus walking on water in Matthew 14:25-33, when Jesus invited Peter to walk on the water as well, he did for a while, until he started getting afraid because of the wind, until he lost faith, then he started sinking. Jesus caught him, so nothing too drastic happened, but we see that Peter lost his miracle when he lost faith.
Hebrews 11:6 is the perfect summary, "And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."
