Purpose

Many of us are very keen on this topic, especially younger people. We're so eager to discover our purpose, "what is it that God has called me to do?" Here are some thoughts and scriptures to guide you:
Don't get too attached to comfort.
We all like the idea of comfort: picturing yourself sleeping in every day, taking trips to the beach, watching TV, or doing whatever it is you like to do. I get it, but the truth is we never grow in those moments, only when we're stretched and pulled and learn to withstand tension, move forward from difficult circumstances. That's when we grow, when we move outside of our comfort zone. The same is true with whatever your purpose is/will be. Chances are it's not being on vacation all year. So, if God puts something in your heart, don't refuse it just because you're afraid. There is a saying that "if it doesn't make you afraid, it's not your calling."
You might not be able or willing to get right on it right now, and that's okay, as long as you're willing to be made willing eventually. God will meet you where you are if it is indeed what He wants you to do, and before you know it, you'll find yourself in situations, places, or with people that help you build up the courage to begin to fulfill it. And until then? We all have one common overarching purpose: the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
Every work you do is an opportunity to glorify God. You don't have to be a full-time pastor or missionary, just putting in your best and working with excellence reflects God's greatness. Serving others and helping them through whatever service you provide is fulfilling the command of loving your neighbor, thus glorifying God.
So every mundane action, every identical day, all those non-special things, they do count for something, they should. Every moment is an opportunity to glorify God, whether by appreciating His creation, loving others, respecting others, intentionally committing, and surrendering to God. We were created to give Him glory, and while He has other unique plans for each of us to fulfill, this is our first and foremost purpose.
Peace and love of Christ be with you all!
