Once again, context people!!!

In Revelations 1, John gives a description of Jesus as He appeared to him in his vision.

"I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance." (Revelations 1:12-16) Read the full chapter here.

I don't know about you guys, but I've seen/heard people use this phrase from verse 14, "The hair on his head was white like wool," in arguments to show that Jesus, when He was on earth, wasn't caucasian. I understand why people speak about this topic, and I also agree that He wasn't White, but in this description, if you follow the CONTEXT, you see that they weren't comparing Jesus' hair texture to wool, but the color!!! So, it's an invalid piece of evidence.

Sometimes we get so caught up in these things, and we forget that it doesn't really matter. It was merely a physical vessel for the Son of God. So whether the vessel was White, Black, Asian, Arab, or whatever physical description, Jesus is still a heavenly being, which is another reason I like the portion above. The description John gave of Jesus seems so out of the universe because He is! It reminds us, really, of how glorious and majestic He is, and draws us to worship, because what else can you really do when you come before such a being?

Peace and love of Christ be with you all!!!
