Read James 2:14-26
As Christians, we are fully aware that we are not made to go through life on our own, that we can lean on God through out our journey. We learn that without God we can do nothing, but with Him, we can do everything, and it practically becomes a conditioned response that we pray about anything, especially when we are facing troubles. But what is the next step after prayer? "Sit and wait," you say, " God will answer me." Yes it's good to pray and have faith, but God won't just snap His fingers and make your fridge full with food. He'll provide, but you have to do your part as well. Remember, faith without works is death
A mistake many people often make is that being a child of God grants you access to an easy life. That is probably the worst misconception ever, you still go through loses, heart break, and persecution, the difference is that God is with us through it all, and we can "consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (James 1:2-4, NIV) God is in the business of building our character so that we realize the full potential He has deposited in every one of us.
So remember, whenever you're going through a rough patch, know that it is a means to an end. My advice is to get some bible verses to help and encourage you, some of mine are:
You can also customize a list according to your situation. But as you are praying, remember to work as well.
Peace and love of Christ be with you all!
