More than a Conqueror

What does it really mean to be more than a conqueror? My pastor once used this story as a metaphor to explain it:
Imagine someone is in a fight, boxing, wrestling, even a gaming match, whatever it is, and there's a prize for the winner, say a check for $100,000. So, one person emerges as the winner. He is victorious. He takes the check that he won home and gives it to his wife. His wife didn't have to work for it, but she received the reward of His victory anyway. He is victorious; she is more than a conqueror.
Maybe writing it out like this makes it lackluster compared to when they demonstrated it during the service, but I hope you see what he meant.
The whole point is Jesus already did the work. He fought the battle and emerged victorious over temptation, sin, death, and all the works of the devil. As children of God, we are on His team, on the winning team. Jesus already won all the battles for us, and just by being on His side, we have victory as well. We are more than conquerors through him who loved us (Romans 8:37).
This is a really short post, but I hope you understand now what it truly means to be more than a conqueror. No matter what you are facing right now or what battle/giant is before you, remember that you are not fighting for victory, but from the victory that Jesus Christ already one. So, be confident, be of good cheer; be courageous, and do not be afraid. Peace and love of Christ be with you all!
