Listening for God

We've talked about this before, and I have no intention of repeating everything I wrote last time. This is more of an encouragement post.

Recently, there was something I really needed God's direction for because I was torn and didn't really know what I was supposed to do. I had prayed about it for a while, asking Him to show me what to do, but I still felt like I hadn't received my answer. This was what I told God, "I'm not good with this stuff, I'm still new to it. So please, if you could give me a really clear and obvious answer. Don't use signs or anything cryptic, please. A writing on the wall would be great, or you could tag me in an Instagram post, or send a prophet to my house, maybe tell it to me directly in a dream. Just please give me a clear direct answer that I know is meant for me and specifically for this situation." And I finally got what I was looking for, and no, unfortunately, it wasn't a writing on the wall. I honestly can't remember how it came; it wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was clear and obvious that it was for me.

My whole point? One, don't assume. Yes, God sees and knows everything, but you have to go to Him yourself with your needs. Two, don't be shy to tell God exactly what it is you want from Him. Don't be scared to be specific, He will meet you where you are. If you want to hear from God, tell Him that. Tell Him what you want to hear from Him about. Tell Him how you want to hear from Him. Tell Him to tune your heart to be prepared to receive His message. Dare to be bold with your prayers.
