Let the little children come to me

Okay, so we all know the bible passage about the disciples trying to stop little children from going to Jesus, and he told them to let them come to Him. (Read the passage here)

Jesus said, and I quote, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” (Luke 18:16b-17) So what does this really mean?

Children are probably the most gullible members of society, epecially younger ones. They believe practically anything anyone they perceive to be of higher authority tells them. Which is why our beliefs and ideal systems are usually formed at that age, and unfortunately, also what makes them the easiest prey to the less "kind" people in the world.

But why does Jesus say that anyone who doesn't receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it? We've already established that children are gullible, so to receive the kingdom of God like a child is to accept everthing it tells you without questioning. This is much harder than it seems, humans are naturally inquisitive beings. So, to accept the word of God unconditionally takes faith, and we get faith by listening to the word of God. Kind of like a chicken and egg scenario here.

Believe in God, and accept the fact that He is much wiser than any of us are, or think we are, and pray for faith to believe the word of God. Peace and love of Christ be with you all!
