Intimacy with God II - Jesus knows our every weakness, He experienced them too

What I love the most about the Trinity is that it gives us the opportunity to think about God in different ways. To me, God the Father is the Almighty Creator, our majestic king. God the Son is Jesus Christ, God in human form, the one we can relate to. God the Holy Spirit is our power and our comforter. So, when I face times of weaknesses or in times when I'm vulnerable, Jesus never fails me, because I know He gets it.

There is nothing that we face that Jesus did not face or doesn't understand, because he was HUMAN. A lot of the time, we don't realize that God really was human in the form of our Lord Jesus Christ. Just because He was also God doesn't mean He had it easy.

  • He was tempted (Matthew 4:1-11)

  • He experienced pain (1 Peter 4:1 - "Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh,...")

  • He grieved (Isaiah 53:3 - "He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief, and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not." John 11:35 - "Jesus wept.")

  • He was unhappy with some of His circumstances and wished things could be different. (Matthew 27:46 - "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”" Matthew 26:39 - "And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

Yet, in all this, he remained faithful and sinless, the perfect human. Hebrews 4:15 says, "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin."

We can draw strength from Him, and in times of weakness, we can ask Jesus to help us pull through, just like He did. So, we don't have to face troubles without God, thinking He wouldn't understand. We don't have to feel scared or ashamed, thinking He expects us to be perfect on the first try. He understands! Never forget that! He gets you, and He gets what you're going through. Go to Him for help.

You know the hymn, "what a friend we have in Jesus, " one of the lines of the verses says "Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer."

Peace and love of Christ be with you all!
