I like to have everything all figured out, so it kinda bothered me that I didn't know my "purpose" yet, and everything was all over the place. I wanted to become a doctor, but I also wanted to get into Global Health and health equality advocacy. Then I went to a workshop and suddenly started considering adding Public Theology to the mix. To say that I was confused would be an understatement.
Eventually, I came up with a plan and was happy for a while, but soon realized that it was not a plan I could afford. So, I resigned to the one I had always had in mind, I was going to be a doctor. To me, it was just not extraordinary. I wasn't going to be traveling the world and touching people's lives, God had to have something bigger in mind for me, right? What I didn't realize was that maybe that's what God wanted me to do. I could be touching plenty of lives wherever I would go, and I could afford to help improve the lives of my many family members. I still hope to dabble in Global Health and health equality advocacy, but even if I don't, even if I don't become some international 'superhero,' I'd at least be one in my home.
What does this have to do with you? Well, maybe I'm just encouraging you that wherever you are, whatever you're doing, you can still touch someone's life. Even if it's through the smallest thing, you can still bring joy to those around you. So, do not be discouraged as you try to figure everything out, because even though you probably won't, God has a plan for you, and it will come to pass. May the peace and love of Christ be with you all!!!
