Anxiety II - Am I living up to God's Expectations?

Last week, I wrote about general anxiety, but today, I'll be writing about something a bit more specific.

If you're like me, you grew up going to church every Sunday, going to bible study, house fellowships, evangelism, prayer meetings, night vigils, the whole nine yards. Even if you didn't, you might find yourself, or found yourself at some point in your life, surrounded by people who seemed to have found and had been fulfilling their calling from God, and it can get really intimidating, especially if you really have no idea what God is calling you to do. I definitely understand the anxiety that can come with that, so here are a few scriptures that have encouraged me, both in being patient with finding my calling and in sticking with it even when it gets hard.

God has a plan for you

God will equip you and strengthen you:

God will direct you:

I feel like this one is so important - the Holy Spirit is there to teach you and remind you of what God says and has said about you and your life

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Philippians 1:6

God has already brought you this far, what makes you think He'll abandon you now? He's saved you and has done the bulk of the work already, so He will most definitely finish His good work in your life.

And the grand finale, Philippians 2:13,

For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Don't feel discouraged if you are finding it difficult because you're not supposed to do it on your own anyway. It is God who works in us to will and to act, just trust Him.

Peace and love of Christ be with you all.
